Democrats Demographics and Destiny

Members of the Democratic Party have taunted Republicans for years with the slogan “Demographics is Destiny.”

What they mean by that is the mostly white Europeans who formed the United States, wrote the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, and populated the new country are on the way out, and people of other ethnicities will soon be in control.

Maybe so, and that’s okay if it all happens naturally and the country remains in good hands. 

But Democrats have worked for decades to speed that along, believing that virtually all newcomers will flock to their party.  They have found ways to use immigration, and illegal immigration in particular, to create what they hope will be an insurmountable voter base in the future.

Will it work?  That all depends on the next few elections.

Bill Clinton, Al Gore and CUSA.

This was an early test case in which President Clinton put Vice President Gore in charge of an accelerated naturalization process, Citizenship USA (CUSA) with the idea of timing the project to create new citizens, and votes for the Democratic Party, in the 1996 elections.  The Oklahoman ran an article on August 28, 2000 entitled Reinventing ‘Citizenship’ Did Gore Approve the ‘CUSA’ Process?

This excerpt from the article demonstrates that President Joe Biden’s open borders policy was not the first time Democrats used immigration for purely political purposes.

STARTLING new revelations concerning abuse of the immigration and naturalization process have rocketed another scandal into national consciousness in recent weeks.  Cal Thomas, in a column on this page (Aug. 23) sketched the process by which the Clinton administration in 1996 apparently accelerated naturalization for some 1 million immigrants. As Thomas noted, “Many had criminal records that normally would bar them from citizenship.”  David Schippers, in his new book Sell Out (Regnery Publishing) found in some records evidence that 20 percent of those with prior violent records in their native lands had committed new crimes after gaining American citizenship under a program Vice President Al Gore advocated in the name of allegedly “reinventing government.”

In the article David Schippers speculated that had witnesses and evidence been accumulated in time, the CUSA matter might have been an article of the Bill Clinton impeachment, since it appeared to be a scheme to turn illegal alien criminals into American citizens.

The CUSA scandal is not so different from today’s Democratic Party attitude toward criminal aliens.

When an illegal alien murders a U.S. citizen such as Laken Riley, or more recently, 18-year-old Loyola student Sheridan Gorman, Democrats shrug their shoulders and tell us that illegal aliens are less likely to commit crimes than citizens are.  CNN and MS NOW will provide some coverage if they feel they have to, but not much.

In the Gorman case, 25-year -old Jose Medina-Medina is the suspect.  He is said to have approached a group of students while masked, and fired a handgun.  This happened on March 19, 2026 on a pier in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago as the kids were observing the Northern Lights.  To Democrats, Miss Gorman is just collateral damage.

Joe Biden’s open border policy. 

One of Biden’s first acts as president was to open the southern border without a vote of the people or an act of Congress.  Millions of aliens, some wearing “Biden, please let us in!” T-shirts poured in.  The good, the bad, and the criminals came across, proving President Trumps’ much maligned statement about immigrants from Mexico:

When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

Looking at the results of Biden’s open borders policy and the number of criminals that came in under that policy, it’s hard to believe, as the Left does, that Trump was wrong.   In addition, Democrats understand that bringing in a permanent underclass, and providing access to welfare, creates a perfect voter base for the Democrats if they can get all these immigrants naturalized.  It’s CUSA all over again.

Allowing non-citizens to vote.

Here’s another scheme the Democrats employ to make damn sure that demographics is destiny.  National Public Radio assures us this is no problem.  In an article entitled Some cities allow noncitizens to vote in local elections. Their turnout is quite low, NPR says Republicans worry too much.

[N]oncitizen voting has emerged as a national flashpoint this election year. Republicans including former President Donald Trump are pushing legislation aimed at stopping noncitizens from voting in federal elections — which is already illegal and, by all accounts, very rare.

Rare now, perhaps, but what about tomorrow?  Progressives run virtually all our big cities.  And in states like California, illegal immigrants being counted in the US Census keep the Golden State flush with congressional seats.   Again, if demographics are destiny, Democrats will take advantage any way they can.

Democrats and birthright citizenship.

This is the case that just went before the Supreme Court.  Democrats insist that if a baby is born in the U.S., it is a citizen.  Of course, as Justice Clarence Thomas points out, the birthright citizenship clause was included to keep the southern states from denying citizenship to the children of former slaves.  Chief Justice John Roberts – a precedent hack – called the two main noted exceptions “quirky.”  He was referencing babies born in our country to the wives of diplomats or pregnant women who might be some part of an invading force.

Justice Roberts leaned on precedent instead of constitutional law and originalism to assert that it would be impossible to include another class of people – births to women in the country illegally – into that mix.  Logic would seem to disagree.  The operative phase in the Fourteenth Amendment is:

…and subject to the jurisdiction thereof…

Which indicates another exception had the framers had an inkling that such a thing as Birthright Tourism (employed by the Chinese Communist Party), anchor babies, and chain migration would ever be a thing.  But you may ask, why are virtually all Democrats in favor of birthright citizenship?  It’s the same answer as always:  Demographics is destiny.

Immigration, especially the illegal kind, is not about diversity.  It’s about votes.

Democrats are shameless in this belief.  They believe the more immigrants that come into the United States, the more congressional districts they get, and the more votes, and perpetual power!  That’s what this is a really about.  What about Chief Justice John Roberts – isn’t he a Republican?  He is.  And he’s also the Democrats’ most prominent useful idiot when these issues come before the High Court.
