Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the Face of the Democratic Socialist Party

Ocasio-Cortez, better known as AOC, already is what the Democratic Party is becoming. She’s young, extreme left, and she doesn’t much like anything about traditional America.
Her platform is chilling.
She advocates a Marxist agenda that includes workers cooperatives including guaranteed jobs, totally socialized healthcare, free college, and open borders. She wants to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE.
She is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, and the Squad, which is the most insane faction of an increasingly insane party. She is a Climate Change alarmist who supports the so-called Green New Deal.
And the extreme Left has dreams that someday soon AOC will become President of the United States.

Where are Democrats now, and where would AOC take them?
The Party is extreme now, but with AOC in charge it would get worse – possibly far worse. Joe Biden was nominated because of that. The Democrats were looking unelectable, and in a fervor to keep Donald Trump from being reelected, they chose Biden as an old-style, grandpa-type who seemed harmless. Biden, they thought, would be a placeholder, and just hold steady for four years until Trump was safely ensconced somewhere behind bars.

The plan did not work out – in either of those dreams. They threw the book at Trump and used lawfare to put him away. They had a shot to make that work, but Biden screwed it up. Instead of being harmless, grandfatherly Scranton Joe, Biden decided to go far left – or somebody decided that for him. Perhaps Jill; perhaps his autopen. We don’t know.
We do know this: on the first day in office, when Biden signed his EOs to erase the southern border, his hopes of a second term went kaput. Right then and there. The other insane things he did were icing on the cake – you know, the trans agenda and such.
The more Biden’s poll numbers fell, corresponding with murders committed by illegal aliens and drugs like fentanyl and human trafficking, Biden was doomed from the start. All his ranting about Trump and January 6 and “Our Democracy” wore thin. His eventual replacement, Kamala Harris, was worse because she had no communication skills.
To the extent that we know what Kamala’s platform is – and who really does? — one would think she’d be s Squad member with views similar to AOC. So, what’s the difference? It’s simple. While Harris speaks in word salads, AOC is a far better communicator, able to fire up her base for the strange and damaging things she believes in.

Let’s a take a look at two institutions of which she is a member.
AOC claims membership in the Democratic Socialists of America.
You can look it up on the DSA website. The DSA is a workers’ movement similar to that inspired by Karl Marx. Here’s what the DSA proclaims:
Who we are: The Democratic Socialists of America is the largest socialist organization in the United States, with over 92,000 members and chapters in all 50 states. We believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few.
What we do: We are a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters, DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.
By the way, this the same organization whose members line up at city council meetings in Austin to lobby for far-left positions, that too often are taken seriously in left-wing cites. Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, a Soros-funded DA, is a member. And note the line in the DSA “who We Are” statement about tactics: “…from legislative to direct action…” and contemplate what they mean by that. We are living in the days of left-wing extremism that often turns violent with the latest examples being campus radicalism regarding Israel, and the attacks on Elon Musk and Tesla.
AOC is a founding member of the most radical element of Congress – the Squad.
The Squad began as a coalition of four female, extreme-left House members elected in 2018 that included Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, NY-14; Ilhan Omar, MN-5; Ayanna Pressley, MA-7; and Rashida Tlaib, MI-12. These are bad babes. You’ve seen them ranting on the news now for years, and you’ve seen their ranks increase as more radicals make it into Congress. Greg Casar, TX-35, is a recent member, and Austin residents know him as the most radical member of the city council before he headed to Washington.

The Squad is pretty much part-and-parcel of the Democratic Socialists of America. If the DSA supports an issue, the Squad supports it, from climate change to reforming the Supreme Court more to their liking. If Donald Trump supports something, you can bet the Squad is against it. AOC’s platform, as mentioned above, is synonymous with the Squad.
Out with the old and in with the new.
If Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer looks a bit tired and anachronistic with his half glasses down on the top of his nose, and his ranting about everything Trump, keep this in mind. The old guard – the Democrats who actually loved America like John F. Kennedy, and perhaps even Bill Clinton – have been gone for a while. We’re in the transitional stage now. Trump Derangement Syndrome may be partly to blame, but today’s Democrats are way left of what the party used to be.
Biden went left and got his butt tossed out. Kamala Harris, with no discernible core values, also went left, and was ridiculed. Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen decided to go left and take up the cause of a deported gang member, and looked like an idiot while doing it. But AOC – that’s different.

Don’t write her off because she’s insane.
AOC appeals to the young voter in ways that Schumer and Van Hollen cannot. She’s a part of that new generation that has been indoctrinated by left-wing college professors to hate Republicans and to distrust Democrats. AOC and Chuck Schumer can say the exact same thing, and they will hate him and embrace her.

AOC is no Kamala Harris. She can communicate where Harris can’t. She can make goofy predictions about climate that fail to come true, and shake it off. She can lose jobs for her district, as in the Amazon HQ debacle and still keep her seat in Congress. She seemingly has two skills which you can see on You Tube – bartending and best practices in the application of lipstick.

She represents a changing of the guard for the Democratic Party. Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, and Harris will soon fade into the past as AOC becomes the face of the future. It’s said that trump can say anything and his followers will still love him. It’s also true for AOC.

She’s young, she’s trendy, she’s Marxist, and she’s what the Democratic Party is becoming. The chance that she will run for the Democratic nomination is likely close to 100 percent. If I were a Democrat, I would not wish to run against her.
Her chances of actually winning a national election hang on two unknowns.
The first unknown is what will happen over the course of the next four years. Someone else could emerge for the Democrats, as Corey Booker and Chris Van Hollen are unlikely to create any serious support. In other words, anything can happen and probably will.
The second unknown relates to how successful the Trump presidency ends up being. Trump’s border and immigration policies have scored points easily. Results of his policies on tariffs remain to be seen. If the trade wars result in massive inflation and higher consumer costs, Republicans will face the same headwinds that doomed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. That could open the door for AOC.
Count her out at your own peril.
