Trump’s opportunity to hold accountable the purveyors of lawfare against him has passed…

…which tells me he was never serious about doing so (political professional wrestling).

Not one deep state swamp rat paid a price. How is that possible after what he supposedly went through, both in his first term (Russia-gate / Comey / Clapper / Brennan / two impeachments / indictments) and during the Biden years (lawfare / arrests / prosecutions / Mar-a-Lago raid, etc.)?
The most logical explanation is that it was Kabuki theater all along.

Barring some major, unforeseen event…

1. Democrats will win the House (fait accompli)
2. Trump will be impeached (fait accompli)
3. Senate could remove him from office
Trump’s approval rating currently sits at about 37% and he has himself to blame for that. I actually think it’s lower. He was at 34% at the end of his first term and I believe he is less popular today. If not, he certainly has much less passionate support (he lost me at, “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?”).
Watch for a negative correlation after the midterms. As approval rating declines, chances of Senate conviction / removal increases, though not necessarily at the same rate. Today, with an approval rating of 37%, and a 50%-50% chance of Senate conviction / removal from office (unknown variable is how many Demcrat Senators there will be in 2027), for every percentage point his approval rating drops, the likelihood of Senate conviction increases by between 3-5%.
Using that formula, once approval is under 30%, odds of conviction / removal go up to about 74% – 90%, and that’s before we even know just how bad the midterm bloodbath is going to be in the Senate. Another unknown is just how many Republican Senators secretly can’t stand Trump and are looking for a reason to remove him.
My TOP issue in the 2024 election was accountability for the Deep State.
That did not happen. One of two things did happen:
Either…
1.) Trump revealed he was part of “the Blob” all along
or…
2.) He bent the knee to it
There’s no coming back from either one.
