Useful Idiots Cheering for Iran

With President Trump in the White House, it has become fashionable to cheer against your own country in time of war.  More important, some members of Congress have taken positions or actually revealed sensitive information that must give comfort to the enemy.

Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, a Democrat, went on “Face the Nation” and told the world that the United States is depleting its munitions in Iran.  Only an idiot would say that on national TV.  Another Democrat, Congressman Ro Khanna of California pushed a war powers resolution through the House along with Republican Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

Yes, the Congress should have a say.  But this is not the time.

Iran is on its knees, and useful idiots are offering them encouragement to hang on.  Remember, the ayatollahs are listening, and so are the Communist Chinese.

I don’t like war; nobody does; but we’re in it, so let’s win it.

Trump says we won the war in the first hour.  That’s Trump, always proud and always stretching for another win.  Of course, the war, or “operation” if you prefer, drags on.  Let’s compare what been claimed by the administration to what the facts on the ground seems to indicate.

RELATED: Iran is a Problem and Trump is a Problem Solver

First of all, Operation Midnight Hammer was a rousing success, blowing up much of Iran’s nuclear capability.  That’s what we were told, but now, most people think there’s some enriched nuclear material under those ruins, and it would not be good for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to retrieve it.  I’m okay with believing this is true, but I have no idea how long it would take Iran to dig it out and turn it into bombs.

Second, the administration claims the Iranian Navy is at the bottom of the sea, and we have total control of Iranian airspace.  Maybe not totally accurate, but close enough.  The Iranians still have small boats and missiles and drones and have been able, in some cases, to close the Strait of Hormuz and even charge tolls for safe passage.  The Iranians, then, are weakened, but not without resources.

Third, the waiting game might work if President Trump can hold on longer than the IRG can.  Inflation is said to be rampant in Iran, and people are going without pay.  The bottom line seems to be that Iran is in a bad situation, hoping for survival, and watching a lot of American TV to see what the attitude is among our people and, especially our Congress.

Useful idiots like Mark Kelly and Ro Khanna give them hope.

I’ve said on the Cardle and Woolley Show many times that President Trump ought to have sold this war to the American people, gotten Congress on board, and worked with our NATO allies.  Had he done this, it would be OUR war rather than TRUMP’S war.  But he’s Trump and he didn’t bother to do those things.  Now, the Democrats (except for Senator John Fetterman) smell political blood in the water, and anti-Trump Republicans are joining in.

This accrues to the benefit of the clerics and the IRG that see the high gasoline prices, which they caused by closing the Strait of Hormuz, and tells them they can outlast Trump.  With the help of useful idiots in our Congress, they just might.

Senator Mark Kelly provided key information to the enemy on “Face the Nation.”

I watched this in awe, wondering how Kelly could let his hatred of the President boil over to the point of disclosing key information – assuming it is even true.  But Kelly is in a position to know.  This isn’t like some talk show host making these statements.  Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was not happy about it, and he was right not to be.

On May 10, 2026, FTN host Margaret Brennan, doing her job, asked Kelly about the stockpile and any possible depletion or shortage of weaponry.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Senator, CBS has reported that the cost of the Iran war is at least $50 billion I know you have been pressing the Pentagon on defining just how many of our munitions have been used up in the course of this conflict to date. You said you’ve been worried about how the US would hold up in a conflict with China because of all of this. Have you gotten an answer on how depleted us munitions are?

It’s fine for a reporter to ask such a question.  Brennan’s job was to put the question out there and see where he would do.  And Kelly went there.

SEN. KELLY: Yes, Margaret, we we have, we’ve been tracking it a number of times. We’ve been briefed by the Pentagon on specific munitions. Actually, it’s been pretty detailed on Tomahawks, ATACMS, SM-3, THAAD rounds, Patriot rounds, so those interceptor rounds to defend ourselves. And the numbers are, I think it’s fair to say it’s shocking the how deep we have gone into these magazines, because this president got our country into this without a strategic goal, without a plan, without a timeline, and because of that, we’ve expended a lot of munitions, and that means the American people are less safe, whether it’s a conflict in the western Pacific with China or somewhere else in the world, the munitions are depleted. You may have seen me ask the Secretary of Defense this question about how long it’s going to take to replenish. We’re talking about years.

Kelly has more sense than to go on national television with the world watching and make these claims, even if they are true and even if he knows they are because he has been briefed.  This is like the Texas Longhorns providing the Oklahoma Sooners with their entire game plan.  It’s beyond stupid, and may move into the territory of treason.  Kelly has every right to oppose the war and Trump, but his hatred of the President took him over a line in this instance.

Congressmen Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie demand an end to the war – now!

Khanna is a Democrat who introduced the resolution to end the war.  Khanna appears to believe that the war is not worth the risk of losing more servicemen or the high cost of gasoline back home.  So, forget about the death cult that runs Iran, and would love to have nukes to hasten the arrival of the twelfth imam and bring about the end of the world.  Gas prices are too high, so never mind that.

Video:  Khanna would prefer to spend on social issues than in Iran

Four Republicans joined Khanna when the house finally passed the resolution.  Congressmen Tom Barrett, R-Mich., Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Thomas Massie, R-Ky., voted for the resolution.  The vote was 215-208 with all Democrats in support of the legislation.  The resolution will not end the war, however because its passage in the Senate is unlikely.

Iran, hears you and takes solace.

It makes you wish that members of Congress, who love television cameras more than life itself, would shut the hell up and have their arguments in private.  Telling the world on national television that we’re low on munitions and complaining about high gasoline prices, and passing anti-war resolutions while Iran is on its knees is beyond stupid; it’s treacherous.

No, Trump did not get us into this war in the correct way.  Yes, the Constitution says only Congress can declare war, but it’s abdicated that power since World War II.  No, the war was not over in the first hour as Trump claimed.  And yes, we are in this war, and we have an opportunity to remove the nuclear threat of Iran, eliminate the threat of terrorist groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi rebels.  Trump, in his unorthodox way, has paved the way for a more peaceful Middle East.

When this is said and done, Congress absolutely ought to debate the congressional obligations of war as stated in the Constitution.  This is not the time.  Kelly and Khanna and Massie and most of the Democrats like House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his counterpart in the House, Hakeem Jeffries, should work with the administration to win this war in a way that makes the whole world safer.  No matter how he did it, we’re in the war and we’re staring a generational  opportunity in the face.  But useful idiots who hate Trump can’t see it.

Meanwhile, 100 miles off the coast of China, Taiwan waits and wonders.  And the Chinese Community Party has heard the words of Mark Kelly and has seen the vote in the U.S. House, and they smile.
